1. A rotating motor whose output or input is DC power is called a DC motor. It is a motor that can convert between DC electrical energy and mechanical energy. When it operates as a motor, it is a DC motor, which converts electrical energy into mechanical energy; when it operates as a generator, it is a DC generator, which converts mechanical energy into electrical energy.


2. Servo motor Servo motor is also called executive motor. In the automatic control system, it is used as an actuator to convert the received electrical signal into the angular displacement or angular velocity output on the motor shaft. It is divided into two categories: DC and AC servo motors. Its main feature is that there is no rotation when the signal voltage is zero, and the speed decreases at a uniform speed as the torque increases.


3. Stepping motor Stepping motor is an open-loop control element that converts electrical pulse signals into angular displacement or linear displacement. In the case of non-overload, the motor speed and stop position only depend on the frequency and pulse number of the pulse signal, and are not affected by the load change, that is, when a pulse signal is added to the motor, the motor rotates through a step angle. The existence of this linear relationship, coupled with the characteristics of the stepper motor having only periodic errors and no cumulative errors.


In the field of speed, position and other control, it is very simple to use stepper motors to control. Beginners generally don't know much about single-chip microcomputer control motors. At first, they can use the PWM signal output by the single-chip microcomputer to control the DC motor. Furthermore, they can try to control the stepper motor for higher control accuracy. For the motion drive of the trolley, a DC motor or a stepper motor can generally be used, and a servo motor is generally used on a mechanical arm to obtain precise rotation angle and trajectory planning.
